THE TEA ON KHI
My name is Khiana Gray Wyatt-Locus, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina. I received my bachelor’s degree in Family & Community Services-Early Intervention and my master’s degree in Human Development and Family Science from East Carolina University. I also received a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Walden University. I am also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and integrative, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. I work collaboratively with clients to explore their multifaceted experiences and identify areas for growth and improvement. By focusing on the whole person rather than just a diagnosis, I empower clients to unlock their potential and enhance their overall quality of life.
THE TEA ABOUT THERAPY
Why Sharing Your Story Matters
At Teatime With Khi, PLLC, I understand that stepping into therapy can be a daunting experience. It’s a common feeling to be hesitant about opening up to a mental health professional. You may worry about being judged or even fear the possibility of hospitalization. These concerns, while understandable, can often prevent you from seeking the help you need to thrive.

One of the biggest barriers to entering therapy is the fear of judgment. Many individuals worry that their therapist will view their problems as insignificant or that they will be judged harshly for their struggles. This fear can stem from societal stigmas surrounding mental health, where discussing personal issues is often seen as a weakness or an inconvenience.

Another significant concern is the fear of being hospitalized. While this is a valid concern for some, it’s important to understand that hospitalization is typically a last resort, used only when someone is in immediate danger or requires intensive support. Most therapy sessions are designed to help you build coping skills and strategies to manage your emotions and challenges, not to rush into drastic measures.

At Teatime With Khi, PLLC, I like to use the African American slang "spilling the tea" as a playful yet powerful metaphor for opening up in therapy. In everyday conversation, "spilling the tea" means sharing the latest gossip or juicy details. In the context of therapy, it’s about sharing your personal experiences, challenges, and feelings.

When I encourage you to "spill the tea," I'm inviting you to reveal your truth in a safe, supportive environment. This approach helps you feel more at ease and emphasizes that therapy is a space where all stories are valid, and no concern is too small. By sharing what's on your mind, you begin the process of uncovering and addressing the issues that may be holding you back from reaching your full potential.

So, if you’ve been holding back from therapy due to fear of judgment or hospitalization, remember that at Teatime With Khi, PLLC, I'm here to listen and guide you every step of the way. Let’s sit down together, spill the tea, and start your journey towards mental wellness.
