ABOUT KHI

Khiana Gray Wyatt-Locus is a licensed therapist, real estate broker, and the owner of Teatime With Khi, PLLC, a private practice inspired by the idea of “spilling the tea."  A two-time graduate of East Carolina University with additional graduate studies from Walden University, Khiana blends faith, culture, and clinical insight in her work. She is also the author of Teatime With God, which explores the connection between faith and mental health, and she brings that same holistic approach to real estate through Khi Gets The Keys, helping clients navigate the emotional side of buying or selling a home. An active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Social Workers, Khiana enjoys reading and indulging in a bit of retail therapy when she’s not working.

THE KHI TO THE KEYS

What excites me most about being a realtor with a mental health background is the opportunity to combine compassion with strategy. Real estate isn’t just about buying or selling property — it’s about helping people navigate huge emotional and financial transitions. My background in mental health allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level, understand their fears and motivations, and create a calm, supportive experience during what can often be a stressful process.

I get excited knowing I can bring empathy, patience, and perspective into an industry that’s often fast-paced and transactional. Every client, every family, every move has its own story — and I love helping people move toward a home that truly fits their needs and nurtures their wellbeing.

It energizes me to see the transformation that happens when clients feel heard, understood, and confident — not just about their home, but about their next chapter in life. That blend of emotional care and practical results is what keeps me passionate about this work every single day.

THE TEA ABOUT THERAPY

Why Sharing Your Story Matters

At Teatime With Khi, PLLC, I understand that stepping into therapy can be a daunting experience. It’s a common feeling to be hesitant about opening up to a mental health professional. You may worry about being judged or even fear the possibility of hospitalization. These concerns, while understandable, can often prevent you from seeking the help you need to thrive.

One of the biggest barriers to entering therapy is the fear of judgment. Many individuals worry that their therapist will view their problems as insignificant or that they will be judged harshly for their struggles. This fear can stem from societal stigmas surrounding mental health, where discussing personal issues is often seen as a weakness or an inconvenience.

Another significant concern is the fear of being hospitalized. While this is a valid concern for some, it’s important to understand that hospitalization is typically a last resort, used only when someone is in immediate danger or requires intensive support. Most therapy sessions are designed to help you build coping skills and strategies to manage your emotions and challenges, not to rush into drastic measures.

At Teatime With Khi, PLLC, I like to use the African American slang "spilling the tea" as a playful yet powerful metaphor for opening up in therapy. In everyday conversation, "spilling the tea" means sharing the latest gossip or juicy details. In the context of therapy, it’s about sharing your personal experiences, challenges, and feelings.

When I encourage you to "spill the tea," I'm inviting you to reveal your truth in a safe, supportive environment. This approach helps you feel more at ease and emphasizes that therapy is a space where all stories are valid, and no concern is too small. By sharing what's on your mind, you begin the process of uncovering and addressing the issues that may be holding you back from reaching your full potential.

So, if you’ve been holding back from therapy due to fear of judgment or hospitalization, remember that at Teatime With Khi, PLLC, I'm here to listen and guide you every step of the way. Let’s sit down together, spill the tea, and start your journey towards mental wellness.
